In order to start the new production, considering the pre-existing vineyards, the agronomist and oenologist Guido Busatto decides to focus on the two most characteristic vines of the Euganean Hills area, merlot and cabernet franc. These two vines are particularly suitable for cultivation given the volcanic origin of the soils rich in siliceous skeleton and limestone.
In 2008 the "Taurilio", a Bordeaux blend composed of 60% merlot and 40% cabernet franc was born. The grapes are grown in dense plants with a limited yield per hectare, which does not exceed one kilo of grapes per plant. After vinification, the wine is aged for about a year in new and first passage French barriques. After a further year of bottle aging, the "Taurilio" is ready to be released on the market.
